Freelance Proofreaders Required

Role

We are looking for experienced editors with expert knowledge of the English language and exceptional attention to detail. As part of our highly skilled editorial team, you will be required to proofread and edit various academic documents.

With a passion for English language, you will have proven editorial experience and exceptional proofreading skills. Offering an excellent degree of flexibility, this role is open to candidates looking for both full time and part time employment.

Responsibilities

• Proofread and sub-edit content.
• Ensure all content is well written, logically structured, grammatically and factually correct by detecting and correcting errors in spelling, punctuation, grammar syntax and style.

Qualifications

Applicants hold a Master's degree from Oxford, Cambridge or a reputable red-brick university, or an equivalent degree from a leading institution.

Required Skills

• Excellent English language skills with editorial awareness.
• Excellent proofreading and sub-editing skills.
• Preferred member or qualification from a proofreading or editing organisation - For example: Society for Editors and Proofreaders (SfEP) or Editors’ and Proofreaders’ Alliance of Northern Ireland.
• Pristine grammar, spelling and punctuation.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
• The ability to work to tight deadlines.
• Well versed in Microsoft Office applications (primarily Word, PowerPoint and Excel).

Salary

Dependent upon the amount of work completed as our proofreaders are paid on a brief-by-brief basis.
